Alongside her policy work, Heidi has also made regular appearances on local and international media outlets where she has presented research and commented on current events. Her most recent work has examined how to communicate during the Covid-19 pandemic and on platform governance.

Heidi was a featured guest on CBC Radio's The Spark with host Nora Young, where she explored the history of propaganda and evolution of its purpose to the modern form of disinformation. She also discussed the tradeoff between conventional and informational warfare for various state-led actors today, where informational warfare has become much more advantageous when some states find themselves in unfavourable situations.

June 26, 2018 • Tagesthemen, ARD

Heidi was interviewed on Tagesthemen, a daily show from German public broadcaster ARD regarding the growing criticism against the CSU, one of the incumbent parties in federal politics, for their remarks on the European refugee crisis. The party had dubbed asylum-seekers as 'asylum tourists.' Similar topics of the day had also discussed the intra-EU dispute over refugees as well as existing policy frameworks for asylum-seekers in the EU.

Heidi joined host Jenni Murray on Women's Hour to discuss the historical role women have played in the United Nations, and even much earlier in multilateral affairs long before the founding of the UN. She also discusses the recent appointment of Nikki Haley as US Ambassador to the UN, focusing on the issues she will focus, as well as how her priorities reflect the policy goals of the Trump Administration.
